Welcome
If you've found your way here, I'm glad you're here. This is a quiet place for people carrying more than others can see. A place for those living with chronic illness, chronic fatigue, grief, overwhelm, sensitivity, or simply the wear and tear of being human.
You won't find miracle cures here. You won't find pressure to push harder or think more positively.
What you will find are stories, reflections, gentle science, and reminders that your worth has never depended on your productivity. Take what helps. Leave what doesn't. And most of all, breathe.

Why From The Fables Exists
Living with a difficult body can be lonely. When symptoms are invisible, it is easy to begin questioning yourself. Easy to wonder if you're imagining things. Easy to feel as though everyone else received instructions for life that somehow never reached you.
I created From The Fables because I needed a different kind of conversation. One that honored both science and story. One that acknowledged pain without becoming consumed by it. One that made room for humor, wisdom, and hope, even on difficult days.
The old fables have been helping people make sense of life for thousands of years. Their lessons are surprisingly modern, and sometimes they understand our struggles better than we expect.
My Story
I have lived with fibromyalgia since 1987. Like many people with chronic illness, I've spent decades learning how to adapt to a body that doesn't always cooperate with my plans. I'm also a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), which means I experience the world deeply. Noise, stress, emotion, beauty, grief, joy—they all arrive with the volume turned up.
For years I searched for explanations. Research helped. Doctors helped. Science helped. But stories helped too. Stories give shape to experiences that are often difficult to explain. They help us feel seen. They remind us that humans have always struggled with limitations, uncertainty, disappointment, courage, and resilience.
That is why I chose Aesop. His fables are short, timeless, and remarkably honest about human nature. A fox, a lion, a mouse, or a hare can sometimes tell us something about ourselves that an entire self-help book cannot.
Here, each fable becomes a doorway into modern life—chronic illness, relationships, boundaries, grief, adaptation, and the quiet art of living well in imperfect circumstances.
